How counselling can help
Understanding anxiety, not fighting yourself.
We can explore how thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and behaviour interact. The aim is to build awareness and useful strategies rather than judge yourself for feeling anxious.
My work draws on cognitive behavioural therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy, with support adapted to your circumstances and preferences.
What we might explore
Worry and overthinking
Explore patterns of excessive worrying, racing thoughts and rumination, while developing strategies to manage anxious thinking.
Avoidance and uncertainty
Understand how anxiety can contribute to avoiding uncomfortable situations, and build confidence in navigating uncertainty and unfamiliar experiences.
Emotional and physical overwhelm
Recognise how anxiety affects both the mind and body, including tension, restlessness and emotional exhaustion, while developing strategies to manage these responses.
Common questions
Helpful Info
Is anxiety counselling suitable for adults and teenagers?
Absolutely. Anxiety can affect people at any stage of life. Our sessions will be shaped around your unique experiences, needs, and goals.
Will counselling make anxiety disappear?
Anxiety is a natural experience, so while counselling may not eliminate it, it can allow us to reduce its impact on daily living and help us feel more confident when it does arise.
Do I need to have an anxiety disorder to seek counselling?
Not at all. If worry, stress or anxious feelings are affecting your wellbeing, that's reason enough to reach out for support.
